Dedicated to Our Dog and
Devoted Friend Paisley

Our dog Paisley was a vibrant and happy dog who enjoyed life!

She was our companion and our best friend.

Unfortunately we only had her eight short years after adopting her from St. Hubert's in Madison, NJ in late 2014.  A medium sized, healthy dog has a life span of at least 13 years.

Paisley died of cancer well under her life expectancy.

We currently rent our townhome where pesticides and herbicides are abundantly and frequently sprayed on the lawns. When Paisley was diagnosed with cancer and died within two painful months, we wanted to know how this happened.

What we found is alarming.

50 years ago 1 in 100 dogs got cancer. Today it's 1 in 1.65 dogs.

When we owned homes and had two large dogs with life expectancies of 12-13 years, one lived to 13 and the other to almost 16 years. The difference?

We DIDN'T put toxic chemicals on our lawn.

A Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine study found that

lymphoma in animals directly correlated with some lawn care chemicals.

There are many studies finding correlations between lawn chemicals and cancer. Our pets, children and ourselves are being poisoned.

Hi, I’m Karen

Welcome to my website! Since our dog Paisley died a month ago, I've been researching about the links between cancer and chemicals.

I graduated from Rutgers - the School of Biological and Environmental Sciences. We rent our townhome and have no control over what the management or their landscapers do. I once asked the landscape business owner why was he using toxins and not natural/safe treatment? He replied customers want perfect lawns.

Even though I knew lawn chemicals were bad, I never thought our dog would die because of them. I didn't know cancer in dogs has skyrocketed since my college days. I just knew Paisley loved being in the yard and so I let her lay on the lawn every spring through fall.

I wish I didn't, but it's too late now.

My intent going forward is to inform and spread the word. This problem isn't just about the harms to our animals, it's about how chemicals are harming us too and our planet. Lawn chemicals seep to our water table and into our faucets and body.

This site is for our dog Paisley and all animals suffering and dying because of this chemical warfare.
